Abstract: Phonetics is the foundation of language learning. And it plays a very important role in foreign language learning. When Chinese learn English phonetics, they are easily affected by their native language because Chinese phonetics and English phonetics both have their own features and are very different by nature. It could influence those learners’ ability of English communication and development of comprehensive ability. Researches in this field has shown that the influence of negative transfer of Chinese phonetics on the learning of English embodies in many aspects, including the negative transfer of phonemes, rhythm and intonation. Therefore, learners should strengthen the awareness of transfer and grasp scientific methods. Also, they should add phonetics input quantity and imitate repeatedly.
