Abstract:Hua Mulan and Kung Fu Panda are two of classics of Hollywood movies. They are still popular since their first show, and two cartoons are with strong Chinese cultural characteristics, they two have a certain representation. This thesis aims to research China’s images which represent as Chinese culture in two cartoons, mainly including Hua Mulan, panda, dragon, cricket, tortoise and Taoism. It discusses from three aspects: Firstly, China’s images in movies; Secondly, Chinese culture beyond these China’s images; Thirdly, American values imposed on these China’s images. Through research and analysis of these three aspects, the article draws a conclusion that in Hollywood movies, the position of China’s images is getting higher, China’s images are accepted by the western, and it becomes more internationalized.
