Abstract
This paper mainly discusses formative evaluation and its application in primary school English classroom teaching. First, the definition of formative assessment and the relevant research at home and abroad so far are given; then the main content and methods of formative evaluation are introduced; finally, some suggestions are put forward to solve the problems of applying formative evaluation to the current primary school English teaching.
