Abstract
With the new round of curriculum reform, primary English teaching began to emphasize all-round development of students. The current English teaching methods often ignore students’ requirement and fail to provide a proper situation for students to apply what they have learned to practice. Role-play is an effective way to develop students’ interests. It not only motivates students’ learning enthusiasm, but also creates opportunities for students to consolidate knowledge. This paper mainly gives a brief introduction of role-play and explores the effective approaches to apply role-play to primary school English teaching.
