Abstract
The application of Communicative Approach to primary English teaching, as the object of this dissertation, is analyzed by using various methods like classroom observation, interviews, and theoretical research. Firstly, the research introduces the definition of Communicative Approach, its appearance and development history, main points of various schools and research status at home and abroad, which reveals the necessity of Communicative Approach to primary English teaching in China. Secondly, through summarizing related theories and classroom teaching, three principles of using Communicative Approach our teachers should pay more attention on in English classes are generalized. Lastly, with the several researches carried out in class, the four proper applications towards how to use Communicative Approach to brighten up English classes during the whole teaching are put forward.
