Abstract:For a long time, teachers have used English teaching materials to ignore the indoctrination of students’ Chinese traditional culture. This has led to the fact that Chinese students cannot use English to describe local cultures in cross-cultural communication, and there often appears a phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese traditional culture.
In the College English Test Band 4 and 6, most of the translation questions are about Chinese traditional culture. After the end of each test, there will be a lot of strange translations on the Internet. This also proves that most university students in China will have the phenomenon of “Aphasia of Chinese Culture” and cannot express Chinese traditional culture correctly. This article analyzes and summarizes the current situation of “Aphasia of Chinese Culture” in English teaching. By observing the classroom teaching and analyzing the characteristics of college English teaching, this article presents an effective way to infiltrate Chinese traditional culture in college English teaching. In the college English class, “infiltration” is a more practical approach. Teachers can infiltrate traditional Chinese culture from all aspects of culture. By introducing Chinese festival culture, students can more easily express Chinese traditional culture and expand their knowledge.
