Abstract
With the development of the Internet, all kinds of English learning websites spring up like mushrooms. The place of English learning is moving from the classroom to the virtual network. There are more and more web-based autonomous learning models and autonomous learning strategies. TED is a famous video lecture website in the world. The speakers are from different fields and the speech is very unique and creative. The website is increasingly considered as a platform of learning English with its popularity and significance.
The thesis makes a study of college English autonomous learning with TED. First, the thesis aims at knowing the situation of students’ autonomous learning. Second, by analyzing the case, the thesis reveals the problems existing in college students’ TED-assisted autonomous learning, and put forward rational suggestions for college students. Finally, this thesis is to arouse students’ interest in autonomous learning, improve learning methods and promote the ability of autonomous learning through the application of TED.
