Abstract: This study is an empirical research, which aims to find out obstacles in English listening comprehension of non-English majors. This research involves 153 Non-English-major students and 20 college English teachers from a common university in Nanjing as the subjects. The research finds that the obstacles of non-English-major students are from pronunciation, speed rate of speaking, vocabulary, cultural background , listening strategy, personal psychological quality, and learning motivation, among which the factors of basic language knowledge have a great impact.
