Abstract:Learner autonomy is a hot topic in recent years. It is not only a new tendency for language teaching, but also one of the most essential goals in the process of reformation in College English Curriculum. The paper intends to conduct a research which aims to identify non-English majors’ autonomy learning situation, differences between male and female students’ autonomy learning by sampling 189 non-English major students as subjects. The research findings show that students’ learner autonomy is much lower, and there are some differences among these groups of students. Finally, some corresponding suggestions are put forward to promote students’ learning autonomy.
