Abstract:More and more scholars have been aware of the importance of vocabulary learning in foreign language learning. So many scholars began to study the vocabulary learning strategies. Based on the related theories and researches of vocabulary learning strategies, this research made a survey on two classes of first-year English majors of the College of Arts and Science of Beijing Union University. The research tries to find 1. The most and least frequently used vocabulary learning strategies; and 2. If there is significant correlation between certain learning strategies and students’ vocabulary test scores? Through analysis and discussion of the research findings, the author will give suggestions to the learners and teachers in vocabulary learning and teaching.

摘要:近年来,越来越多的学者意识到了词汇学习对于外语学习的重要性。为此,很多学者开始研究词汇学习策略。本研究将以词汇学习策略的相关理论和研究为背景,对北京联合大学应用文理学院英语专业一年级两班学生的英语学习策略进行调查,了解他们的词汇学习策略的总体情况。调查的目的体现在以下两个方面:英语专业一年级学生常用和较少使用的词汇学习策略,分析其原因,并结合他们的词汇量测试结果,检验学习策略与词汇量的相关性。通过对调查结果的分析和讨论,提出对教师和学习者的建议。
