Abstract:This dissertation attempts to investigate the English level of today’s college students by means of a survey conducted in Zengcheng college of South China Normal University to analyze the factors influencing spoken English’s fluency of and seek for the corresponding approaches to improve it. In recent years, as reform and opening-up policy carried out in our country, education for all-round development occurs and with more and more face-to-face communication is in need, the unprecedented emphasis is placed on communicative skills for contemporary college students who are now required to gain enough oral communicative ability to speak fluently as well as smoothly, properly and decently so as to keep pace with our times. Autonomic learning is advocated greatly and some strategies are employed on how to enhance spoken English’s fluency, like imitation, prefabricated chunks, enlarging vocabulary. The proficiency of oral English is measured by accuracy and fluency in colleges and universities and between the two standards, fluency is the basic requirement. After comparing and analyzing our country and other countries’ theories and studies, this essay is to present some suggestions on how to heighten spoken English’s fluency.

摘 要:本论文主要通过实地的问卷调查了解大学生学习英语的现状,探讨影响其口语流利性的因素及提高英语口语流利性策略的问题。近年来,随着我国对外开放的不断扩大,素质教育的深入开展,人们“面对面”的国际交流机会不断增加,言语交际能力的培养受到前所未有的重视。英语口语的学习的最终目的是学生能习得清晰、流畅、达意、得体的英语口语。大学英语教学对英语听读写能力的要求有了明显的提高,但是大学生的口语水平仍然跟不上时代的步伐。现代大学提倡学生自主学习,而本文所提及的模仿法,预制模块和扩大词汇量的自主学习策略是一个比较好的尝试。高校学生英语口语水平的高低程度主要取决于其语言表达的流利性与正确性。其中,口语的流利性是基本要求。通过对比国内外英语口语流利性的不同研究的分析,本论文力图为英语口语流利性的培养提供自主学习的建议。
