ABSTRACT:Conspicuous consumption is a kind of behavior that is to pursue the identity, status, psychological needs and psychological satisfaction. Conspicuous consumption concept was first proposed by Canadian economist John Rae. But it is the American economist Thorstein B Veblen who made the theory receive much concern. It is a concept that is irrational to college students’ philosophy of life and word view. This thesis describes the characters and manifestation of conspicuous consumption of Chinese college students and analyzes the causes of conspicuous consumption of Chinese college students at present age. Finally, this thesis comes up with some solutions to solve the problem and create a steady and harmonious college culture. It will produce far-reaching influence to the Chinese college students not only at present, but also in the future.

摘要:炫耀性消费是一种以追求身份、地位为目的,满足心理需要的消费行为。炫耀性消费概念首先由加拿大经济学家约翰·雷提出。美国经济学家索尔斯坦·凡勃伦将其发扬光大,并提出了凡勃伦效应。

   本文具体介绍了当代中国大学生炫耀性消费的特征及表现,分析了造成当代中国大学生炫耀性消费的原因,针对当代中国大学生炫耀性消费文化提出相应的应对措施。指出当代中国大学生炫耀性消费的危害,提出相应的应对措施,建立健康和谐的校园消费文化,对当代及未来大学生的身心发展都将产生深远影响。
