INTRODUCTION
The book Focus is written by Heidi Grant Halvorson and E. Tory Higgins. Regulatory Focus Theory explains people will be in two different states in daily life, that is, promotion focus and prevention focus. If you are promotion focused, you are willing to improve yourself, keep moving forward and avoid missing all the opportunities. Relatively, if you are prevention focused, you always try to minimize the probability of loss and try to make everything work properly. Both of them have a certain effect on various aspects of our lives and both of them inspire everything we do.
The authors describe two focus, elements which inspired us and the leading focus in chapter one. What’s more, authors illustrate things which attract our attention and inspire us.
In second chapter, the authors describe differences between optimistic people and pessimistic people, and reasons why optimistic people do not work for pessimistic people. And in this chapter, the authors provide readers with a self-test so that readers can know which kind of goals they can achieve. And the authors convey right attitudes that when we get a suitable work.
