ABSTRACT:English writing, as one of the four basic skills of language teaching, has drawn more and more attention in language teaching. This paper makes a case study on 80 students in Grade nine from San He junior middle school in Luxi. Based on the Error Analysis, the writer analyzed their 80 English compositions, and found some common errors, such as vocabulary, the grammatical errors and syntactical errors. At the same time, with the help of Error Analysis theory, the causes of errors were found out, which are mother tongue negative transfer, different thinking modes and students’ poor knowledge base. Finally, the writer will provide some suggestions for the students’ English writing and the teaching of English writing. The suggestions for the students include the following aspects: enlarging the vocabulary, doing more exercises, having intensive reading and extensive reading. Besides, teachers should select proper approaches to teach writing, promote the students’ motivation, use the brainstorming and apply textual knowledge to the writing. They are good for both students and teachers. What’s more, they are helpful for the students to improve their English writing ability and avoid or at least minimize the errors in the English writing. The purpose of this research will improve the students’ English writing in Grade nine and make a good result in English examination.

摘 要:英语写作能力,作为英文应用四项基本技能之一,在教学中受到越来越多的重视。本文以泸西三河中学初三80名学生为个案进行研究。根据错误分析理论,对他们的80篇英语作文进行分析,找出以下常见错误,例如:词汇错误,语法错误,句法错误。同时找出了错误所产生的原因是:母语的负迁移,英汉思维差异,学生基础知识不牢固等。最后,提出有助于提高学生英语写作能力的建议及一些写作教学方法如下:学生努力扩大词汇量,多做练习,加强阅读;教师应选择适当的方法进行写作教学,激发学生的写作动机;应用头脑风暴和文本知识的方法指导学生写作。帮助学生提高写作能力,更大限度的减少甚至避免写作错误。本研究旨在提高初三学生英语写作能力,使其在英语考试中获得好成绩。
