Abstract:For some years, traditional approaches to English teaching in classrooms has been dominated by teacher, with the teacher imparting knowledge all the time while students being passive recipients in China .Many students are good at English writing and reading, but they are very afraid of communicating with others in English .Because they don’t use English in daily life, even in English class they hardly use it to commuunicate. As a result, dumb English is forming .Now, more and more schools try to find a way to change this situation, so they use Task-Based Learning in English teaching. It is a brand-new student-centred task-based compiling approach, which is intended to develop students’ ability to utilize the language. Using this method, students have more opportunities to communicate to others in English. Their oral English has a great progress .In the paper, the author will cover many important parts of Task-Based Learning, such as its background, significance and features. In this paper, the author will also analyze the relationship between new English Curriculum Standard and TBL and how to apply TBL in middle school English Teaching. The paper also presents some reasons for unsuccessful implementation of TBL and some suggestions。

中文摘要:一些年来,中国的传统的英语课堂教学方法是由老师来支配的,一直都是由老师传授知识而学生被动地接受。许多学生精于英语的写作和阅读,但是他们却很害怕和其他人用英语交流。因为他们在日常生活中很少用到英语,甚至在课堂上他们几乎没有用英语来交流。因此,哑巴英语就形成。现在,越来越多的学校尝试去寻找一种方法去改变这种情况,所以他们用任务型教学方法在英语课堂上。它是一种崭新的一学生为中心任务型的方法,它目的在于提高学生使用语言的能力。学生用更多的机会和别人用英语交流通过使用这种方法。他们的口头英语得到很大的提高。本文作者将会提及任务型教学的重要方面,例如:它的背景, 意义和特点。本文也阐述了英语新课标和任务型教学的关系和怎样应用任务型教学在中学英语教育。本文也介绍了任务型教学不成功的贯彻的原因和提出了几点建议。
