Abstract: Reading can help people know more about the world. In the process of English learning, reading is the main measure to acquire English knowledge, is one of the main input manners during learning foreign language, and is an effective approach to enhance English level. To cultivate students’ reading ability is an important task in middle school English teaching. Based on the classroom observation, this thesis analyzes the application of schema theory to English reading instruction in junior middle school. Six stages are presented: introduction of background knowledge, reading and listening, extensive reading, intensive reading, applying schema, reviewing after class, with the focus on practicing students’ reading strategies and skills. By doing so, teachers can be more promising to help students develop their reading proficiency along with other language skills and become effective and successful readers both in and out of the class.

摘要:阅读能帮助人们更多的了解世界。在英语学习中,阅读是人们获取英语知识的主要手段,是学习外语时的主要输入方式之一,也是提高英语水平的有效途径。培养学生的阅读能力是中学英语的重要任务。基于对课堂教学的观察,本文分析了图式理论在初中英语阅读教学中的运用,呈现了六个部分:背景知识的介绍,视听,泛读,精读,图式运用,课后复习,并且将重点放在了锻炼学生策略与技巧上。通过这些,教师能更好地帮助学生提高阅读和其他语言技巧,使其能够在课内外成功有效的阅读。
