Abstract:With the New English Curriculum implemented, teacher-centered classrooms gradually have shifted to student-centered classrooms. This paper firstly reports the merits and problems of the current application of group work in junior middle school English classroom. Secondly, it adopts questionnaire, interview and classroom observation to investigate their motivation and participation in their group work in NO.3 Middle School of Tengchong. It also investigates the positive influence and disadvantages of group work on students. The results of this research show that group work is really a valuable classroom method. Lastly, the author also gives some suggestions to organizing group work efficiently.

中文摘要:随着新课程改革的提出,英语课堂不断地从原来的以教师为中心向以学生为中心改变。本文探究的是小组活动的运用对初中一年级的英语课堂教学的作用。本文通过使用问卷调查法,访谈法和课堂观察法调查了学生在小组活动的动机来源和参与度, 同时还调查了小组活动在具体运用中存在的一些优势和不足。研究表明小组活动已成为了课堂教学的一种有效的教学方法。最后本文还给出一些建议去提高小组活动的效率。
