Abstract:Evaluation is one of important and indispensable elements in the whole English language teaching and learning process. This paper is about the significance of the formative assessment in No.5 Middle School of Mile. The subjects were the second-year junior students in this school. Considering the current practical situation of English teaching in this school, I used questionnaires and observation to carry out the research. The study found that in English teaching, the implementation of formative assessment can cultivate and inspire the students’ motivation to learn English. It also helps the teachers to adjust their teaching activities and improves the evaluation system to be perfect. The research results can provide a reference to the middle school teachers’ English teaching.

摘要:教学评价是教学活动的一个重要组成部分。本文研究形成性评价对初中二年级学生英语学习的积极意义。研究以弥勒县第五中学初二年级学生作为实验对象,紧密结合该中学英语教学实际,采用问卷调查法和观察法进行研究。研究发现,在初中英语教学中,形成性评价的应用能激发学生的英语学习动机,唤起学生英语学习的兴趣。同时,通过形成性评价的实施,教师能主动调整教学策略,从而完善教学评价机制。本研究结果对英语教师的教学实践有一定的借鉴意义。
