Abstract:Vocabulary is the construction material of language, left the vocabulary，language loses its practical significance. English vocabulary is the basis for learning English. For the English learners who want to learn English, to master a certain amount of vocabulary is the key. For the junior high school students to learn English the most difficult to break off the concern is vocabulary. Well-known scholars, Wilkins (1972) say: Without grammar, very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary, nothing can be conveyed. Therefore, whether a person grasps true meaning of vocabulary or not directly influences his accurate expression. This article describes several teaching methods, in order to improve students’ abilities to learn and use vocabulary.

摘要:词汇是语言的建筑材料，离开了词汇，语言就失去了实际意义。英语词汇是学习英语的基础。对于英语学习者来说要学好英语，掌握一定量的词汇是关键。对于初中学生来说学习英语最难闯的关也就是词汇关。闻名学者威尔金斯说过：没有语法，表达甚微；没有词汇，表达为零。正因为如此，一个人把握词汇的多寡和牢固与否，直接影响他的语言表达能力，影响他思想表达的丰富与准确程度本文从几种方法中去探讨词汇教学方法，以求提高学生学习和运用词汇的能力。
