ABSTRACT:The development of our rural areas’ English teaching lags behind in general, which has a great gap between that of the city areas. The English learners’ levels in the rural areas are far lower than those in the city areas. These English teaching problems in the rural areas have also become the hot spot themes on which educators and scholars have still concerned and discussed. This paper gave a survey on the rural junior middle school students’ attention in English classroom teaching. The results reveal that the characteristics of the rural junior middle school students’ attention are: the stabilization of their attention is not high; the duration of their attention is short; and their attention is easy to be distracted in English classroom teaching, suggesting a main reason leading to bad performance in the class. The writer will pose some constructive suggestions to the problems prevailing among students in rural junior middle schools.

摘 要:我国农村地区英语教学水平总体发展缓慢,与城市地区的英语教学水平差距甚大。农村地区英语学习者的英语水平远远低于城市地区。农村的这些英语教学问题一直是国内教育专家和学者们关注和讨论的热点话题。本文通过实证性研究—问卷调查的方式调查了农村初中生在英语课堂教学中注意力的表现。调查表明农村初中生在英语课堂教学中注意力的特征表现为:注意力的稳定性一般,注意力的时间较短,注意力容易分散和转移, 这已说明了英语教学效果不佳的主要原因是学生无法在课堂上集中注意力。作者就如何在农村初中英语课堂教学中吸引学生的注意力这一问题提出一些见解。
