Abstract: This thesis aims to study how to apply Communicative Approach to Oral English Teaching in Junior Middle Schools. Based on the theoretical foundation of Hymes’s ‘Communicative Competence’ and Littlewood’s ‘Communicative Language Teaching’, the author states the principles of CA, introduces how to apply CA to Oral English Teaching in Junior Middle Schools, and points out the advantages of applying the CA and puts forward some corresponding suggestions. The conclusion of this thesis is that in the process of an Oral English class in Junior Middle Schools, CA can activate the atmosphere of the class, arouse students’ interest, diminish students’ anxiety and establish a harmonious relationship between the teacher and students. What’s more, it makes students learn how to communicate in English in a relaxed context. As a result, both students’ oral English and teachers’ teaching efficiency can be improved.

摘要:本文旨在研究交际教学法在初中英语口语教学中的应用。以海姆斯的交际能力和利特尔伍德的交际语言教学理论为理论基础,作者阐述了交际法教学的原则,介绍了如何把交际教学法运用到初中英语口语教学中,指出了在初中英语口语课中运用交际法的优势并提出了一些注意的方面。文章的结论是在初中英语口语教学中,交际法教学能够活跃课堂气氛,激发学生的兴趣,减少学生的焦虑,建立和谐的师生关系,让学生们在轻松的环境中学习如何用英语交流,提高他们的口语水平以及教师的教学效果。
