Abstract: The thesis aims to study how to apply cognitive strategies to junior middle school English teaching. Based on cognitive theories of learning, Piagiet’s constructivism and the theory of Scaffolds, the author introduces the classification of cognitive strategies and their different functions in classroom English teaching. After that, the author also indicates the advantages of the application and puts forward some suggestions for using those strategies. The conclusion of the paper is that in middle school English teaching, cognitive strategies can help students master correct learning methods, and get to know what strategies might be more beneficial for English learning, therefore, greatly improving both the students’ learning efficiency and the teacher’s teaching effects.

摘要:本文旨在研究认知策略在初中课堂英语教学中的应用。以认知学习理论、建构主义理论为理论依据。作者介绍认知策略的分类以及不同的策略在课堂上的运用,阐述了认知策略选择的用途,指出了运用认知策略教学的优势并且提出了一些注意的方面。文章的结论是在初中英语教学中,认知策略的应用能够帮助学生们掌握正确的学习方法,了解哪些认知策略更有益于学生的英语学习,从而全面提高他们的学习效率以及教师的教学效果。
