Abstract
According to Full-time Compulsory General English curriculum standards (trial version,2011),the main goals of English education courses are to arouse students’ interests in English, promote students to build up self-confidence, develop good learning habits and grasp effective learning strategies. Cooperative learning is a kind of learning and teaching method , which can develop students’ abilities of cooperation and improving students’ learning efficiency. Thus it is widely carried out in most middle schools. This study is based on the data from the questionnaire. What my study want to deal with is how to exert students’ main role in teaching procedure, let students take part in the tasks actively and be willing to explore. And those major findings of the study have showed that cooperative learning is an effective way to improve students’ language competence and sense of cooperation, but there are still some difficulties during the practice. So this paper discusses how to implement the cooperative learning more effectively, according to the current studies at home and abroad, investigation of the current cooperation, previous studies.
