Abstract:Oral English plays an important part in the whole process of English learning, especially in the English teaching in middle schools . Teachers should pay more attention to oral English teaching and adhere it to all aspects of listening, speaking, reading and wirting. This essay analyses the present situation of oral English teaching in middle schools, illustrates the problems teachers will have when they use role play in their oral English teaching, talks about the roles that teachers and students play in the activities of role play and emphasizes the importance of role play in the oral English teaching in middle schools.

摘要:英语口语在整个英语学习过程中,尤其在初中英语教学中占有重要的地位。教师应该重视英语口语教学，将它贯穿在听，说，读，写各个环节。本文分析了英语口语教学的现状，阐述了教师在进行角色扮演活动中遇到的问题，论述了教师和学生在角色扮演活动中所扮演的角色，强调了角色扮演在初中英语口语教学中的重要性。
