Abstract: Affect is a link between teachers and students in communication. Since humanistic language-teaching theory in 1970 begins focus its attention on affect on language teaching, from home to broad, many scholars are concerned with this field—affective education. With the improvement of New Curriculum Reform, English teaching material in junior middle school has changed a lot, so do the requirements towards students. The teachers’ traditional force-feeding teaching style and students’ traditional learning ways can’t adapt to the request of new curriculum. But the complexity of affective education often make many scholars stop and hesitate in researching the application of affective teaching in English teaching in junior middle school. Therefore, affective teaching is rarely used in English teaching. The paper describes the basic information of affective education, current state of affective education in middle school English teaching and some strategies for applying the affective education in middle school English teaching.
