Abstract:Because of individual difference, the uniqueness of students, and their different development in the English teaching, there will be stratification of students in one class. The New English Curriculum Standards makes it clear that we should respect students’ individual difference and promote overall development of students. Although the traditional class teaching system has many advantages, it ignores the differences of students, and makes different students to meet the same standard. To implement the teaching mode of “one size fits all” to all the students can’t meet the requirements of different level students. In order to adapt the teaching development, meet the needs of students, promote the overall development of each student, Layered Teaching Method arises at the historic moment. According to students’ results, it divides students into different groups and helps to solve disadvantages of traditional teaching system that it’s not easy to take account of students’ individual difference. Along with the development of times and education, English teaching has become an indispensable course in the discipline teaching. Because English is an important means for us towards internationalization. To cultivate talents who can adapt to the era, we must continue reforming the teaching mode and make every student’s overall development as a goal. Applying Layered Teaching Method correctly can help students obtain successful experience, enhance motivation of and improve interest in learning English, and let every student learn something in English class.
