Abstract
Reading strategy is a practical reading method for students. The research on reading strategy has a significant meaning for both teachers’ teaching activity and students’ learning activity. This research focuses on the current status of reading strategy use in Junior Middle School, and restates the importance of strategy instruction. Strategy instruction is an efficient method to improve students’ English competence and learning capacity.
The research focuses on reading strategy in Junior middle school. The questionnaire will reveal the situation of using reading strategy by students. The comparison between the pretest and post-test will prove the function of strategy instruction. This research of reading strategy includes ninety students. This paper answers three research questions and puts forward some implications. At the end of this paper, it discusses the limitations and give some suggestions for the further research.
