Abstract
Grammar, which is the basis of acquiring a language, helps learners understand the sentence structures and master the sentence meanings. Only with the mastery of grammar can students grasp English well.
However, teachers’ opinion has differed on the English grammar teaching in junior middle schools. Some emphasize English grammar teaching too much while others think little of it. Besides, there are many problems in grammar learning. Therefore, the thesis aims at finding out the problems and exploring the effective ways and methods of English grammar teaching in junior middle schools that can help to improve students’ proficiency in English grammar.
