Abstract:The present study presents a detailed report of a project implemented to solve the problem that most of my students’ reading ability is poor. Under the situation, I analysed reason and have taken some measures to improve their reading ability in many respects .I think the key to the problem is English teaching, So I tried my best to arouse the interest in reading comprehension through various reading skills training:skimmming,scanning,inferring,guessing the new words according to the context. It is hypothesized that students’ reading comprehension have made great progress after they had learned these reading skills. This hypothesis is verified an effective teaching method through four-week implementation.
Methodologically, four methods are used, they are analytic method, cause analysis, questionnaire survey, and brainstorming activation.
