中文摘要:词汇是英语教学的重点和基础,词汇量的大小直接影响着学生的语言表达能力。但在传统词汇教学方法的指导下,许多学生尤其是中学生,在学习许多年英语后仍然不能很好地理解并运用这些词汇。究其原因不难发现,即使是相同的词汇,不同的语言环境中仍有着完全不同的意味。所以,理解词语的意义要结合相应的语境,它或多或少地限制了词语的含义。这就要求在日常的课堂教学中,对于词语的解释不能只参照课本,而是应该放在适当的语境中进行阐释。
本文基于语境的分类和功能,分别从语言语境即词汇语境、语法语境和言语语境以及非语言语境即情景语境和文化语境两大方面探讨了应用语境理论提高中学英语词汇教学效果的具体方法。最后建议教师注重词汇教学语境的趣味性、适切性和真实性,以提升中学英语词汇教学的效果。
