Abstract:This paper mainly explores the ingenious subtitle translation of Kungfu Panda from the perspective of Domestication and Foreignization. When we come up with the Domestication and Foreignization, we know they are always contradictory and opposite, and the point of contradiction lies in the translators who need to satisfy the cultural phenomena occurring in domestic and source languages for better understanding, and find a closer and more faithful translation strategy of the source text. However, Venuti stressed that translation is a restricted communication. He pointed out that foreign translation can use foreign texts to maintain or correct the dominant language culture. Pound's translation of Chinese poetry is an example of controversy. Therefore, the dispute between domestication and foreignization is completely unrealistic. This article analyzes the advantages of both from the subtitles of Kung Fu Panda, and the translation must be flexible rather than rigid.
