Abstract
The Bluest Eye is the first work of American black writer Toni Morrison. Black culture is gradually deteriorating under the influence of white dominated culture. Black people hate themselves, discard their culture, regard the blackness as ugliness and lose themselves little by little. People in the black neighborhood are lack of social responsibility, looking at miserable things with cold attitude, and even looking down upon other blacks. What’s more, the oppression coming from white dominated society, such as white mass media, school education and language. All these factors cause the black culture gradually deteriorating.
