Abstract：D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930), a British novelist, critic, poet and painter of the 20th century. Lawrence is the most unique and controversial writer in the history of British literature in the 20th century. He believes that the novel is the highest form of human expression of thoughts and feelings. Rainbow is one of Lawrence's two most mature masterpieces (the other is her sister's article Woman in Love) and is the longest novel in his novels. It takes the form of a family history and describes the experiences and changes of the three generations of the Brangwen family of cultivators.
At present, the research of this work mainly focuses on his writing skills, analysis of feminism contained in the novel, and less attention is paid to the anti-ecology thought embodied in Lawrence's works. In the Rainbow, Lawrence profoundly revealed the great changes in the British social history brought about by the capitalist industrial revolution. This subject will once again profoundly interpret Rainbow by digging through the anti-ecological themes in the novel. In the current situation of deteriorating ecological crisis, an analysis of Lawrence's anti-ecological themes expressed in Rainbow helps humans to re-understand nature and re-understand the traditional concepts, thus promoting human exploration of the harmonious coexistence of life with nature. I hope this topic can provide a new perspective for the interpretation of this work.
