Abstract
This essay is a study on the use of color in To the Lighthouse and analyzes the author’s personal view of life and values in the narrative process of the novel by means of symbolic meanings of different colors.
In addition, this essay also attempts to analyze the association between color and characters’ inner feelings and other aspects to explore how the novel shape a full personality through clever combination of the rich color and characters’ inner activities.
