Abstract
W.B Yeats is an outstanding Irish poet, and also he is a milestone in the history of English Literature. He won the Nobel Prize for literature for his outstanding contribution to the revival of Irish national culture. He is not only the rose of Ireland, but also the pride of the whole Ireland. His life is full of ups and downs, his life cannot be separated from the national spirit, his troubles of his love, and the impact of mysticism on him. In the early times, his style is romanticism, then romanticism has become modernism, and finally his style forms a complete and mature Yeats’s symbolism. During the constant pursuit of innovation in Yeats’s creation, he absorbs different thoughts and artistic styles actively, and goes beyond himself to make great advance, and he has made great achievements in poetry, drama and other fields. This paper mainly compares Yeats’s writing style in different times, and the factors which influence his writing style. In this paper, we will focus on the occultism and modernism to conclude the changes of his writing styles in different periods.
