Abstract
Emily Bronte , an English woman writer of superb talent in the nineteenth century, was well known for her only novel Wuthering Heights. This thesis aims to analyze the representative of female image Catherine from the perspective of feminism. She establishes her subjects under the influence of the social standards and cultural conventions. She achieves the self- improvement in the process of subject formation. Under the oppression of paternal norms, she aims to pursuit the value of existence. By the struggle against fate and paternal society, she tries to get rid of the repression of patriarchal society and conveys to the reader another kind of femininity.
