Abstract
Chinese cuisine culture is an important part of Chinese historical culture, which is famous for its variety and abundance. Now,more and more foreign tourists would like to visit China and enjoy Chinese food. So, the accurate translation of Chinese cuisine names is very important for the spread of Chinese culture. My paper will take Shanghai cuisine as an example, and I will give some examples about the mistakes in the translation of Shanghai dishes and I will give some suggestions about how to solve the problems. Next, it will study the principles of the English translation of Chinese dishes from three parts. And then, it will introduce some translation strategies about Chinese Dishes. The aim of this paper is to provide some references for Chinese dishes translators.
