Abstract
This is a thesis on the idea of anti-totalitarianism in Animal Farm .Animal Farm is one of the most significant works of George Orwell, which reflects the idea of anti-totalitarianism to the contemporary politics in certain western countries in the 20th century. From the aspect of the theme of this fiction, it can easily draw a conclusion that Orwell is ironically critical of the totalitarian society and the people blinded by greed. It has been elaborated clearly that the author's intense anger to the authorities who monopolized revolutionary fruits and his deep sympathy for the public who had lost their discourse right. Orwell’s acute conception on politics is prophetic and it makes our temporary political leaders, government officials and ordinary civilians alert to stay democratic, free and humanitarian.
