Abstract
The Gothic tradition has a comparatively large influence on American Literature, which has also been inherited by many western writers. As a widely accepted Gothic novel, Wuthering Heights can be seen as Emily Bronte’s unique and brilliant masterpiece. This paper illustrates the Gothic tradition and its theory, and also points out the Gothic tactics of Wuthering Heights in theme, environmental description, characters and plot description. Different from other Victorian novels, Wuthering Height has affected world literature.
