Abstract:English has become one of the most important languages of all countries in the world. The second language learning is a complicated process, in which a lot of factors may influence its acquisition. Many studies show that there are three main factor affecting language learning, which are external factors, intrinsic factors and personality factors. These factors will affect students' performance in foreign language learning to various degrees. Having good psychological quality and stable emotions can greatly promote the learning of foreign languages. This paper aims to study the important role of personality in foreign language learning. Because the students' personality factors have a direct impact on their English learning, it will affect the quality of English teaching. Students’ learning interests, attitudes, and feelings will also affect their English learning quality, therefore, it is important to give full play to the promotion of English learning by students' personality factors, so as to comprehensively improve students' English learning ability. To this extent, this topic is of great practical significance.
