Abstract
The Kite Runner is the first novel of Khaled Hosseini, an Afghan-American author who wrote his first novel with an Afghan background. This work not only demonstrates the growth history of a person's soul, but also shows a history of a suffering country. Ultimately, it gains a great success. This paper aims to reveal the ugly and beautiful human nature by analyzing the redemption of the main role, Amir. This paper will focus on the redemption of Amir and analyze the course of three points: what, why, and how. What refers to Amir’s sins? Why should Amir do the redemption? How does Amir finish his redemption? Eventually, it comes out that human nature does not depend on each person's own pursuit, because human nature is beautiful originally.
