Abstract
By interpreting William Shakespeare’s sonnets, this essay explores his bisexual complex from three aspects. To begin with, it discusses the creation background of Shakespeare’s sonnets, which is of important significance for exploring Shakespeare’s sexual orientation. In addition, by analyzing of Shakespeare’s attitudes and changes of emotion toward two major characters in his sonnets, the thesis proves that he has bisexual complex actually. Finally, according to the definition of bisexual complex, the thesis analyzes the main feature of Shakespeare’s bisexual complex. The above research is instructive to the understanding of Shakespeare’s other literary work.
