Abstract
Nowadays, translation plays crucial roles in cross-culture communication. It builds a bridge of understanding cultures. It is also regarded as the most important way to accelerate the pace of social development and promote human communication.
Recently, many translators have devoted to the study of translation especially in poetry. The main reason is that poetry represents the most excellent literature in different cultures. Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauties” provides comprehensive standards to translate poems and to evaluate different versions.
This paper mainly analyses and compares two different versions of Ode to the West Wind from Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauties”. By the comparison of the two different versions, the author finds their advantages and disadvantages in order to create better translation version, improve the poem translation techniques which will promote poetry translation and finally achieves the human cultural communication.
