互联网的出现是在工业时代最伟大的科技进步。互联网的兴起为企业家创造了机会,也摧毁了许多企业,最重要的是改变了电子商务的业务结构。互联网时代是一个企业家尝试新的商业模式的时代。
全球化加速了贸易,互联网是互联供应链的驱动力。电子商务是一个复杂的过程,涉及到极端的实体之间的协调。供应链包含相互联系的供应商、制造商、分销商和零售商合作的活动。供应链的目的是以高效的方式向客户提供产品和服务。消费者需要一个无错的供应链, 这就增加了管理需求和供给的压力。电子零售商往往比实体零售商具有更低库存,因为电子供应链比非电子能更有效地整合利益相关者。

Abstract.The rise of the Internet has revolutionized the manner in which retailers operate. The early stages of the dot com era allowed businesses to experiment with different business models. Internet retailers focused on front-end activities, overlooking the importance of back-end operations such as supply chain management. Retailers have to account for stockouts and act .Large retailers with an online and physical presence have the flexibility to serve customers better than smaller retailers.

The emergence of the Internet has been the greatest technological advancement after the industrial age. The rise of the Internet created opportunities for entrepreneurs, destroyed many businesses, and most importantly changed the business structure of e-commerce. The dot com era was a time period where entrepreneurs experimented with new business models (O’Brien, 2008).
