Abstract: This paper aims to investigate how to enhance students' learning efficiency through an analysis of the individual learning styles. First of all, the paper proposes the concept of different mainstream classifications of learning styles. Then it further introduces David Kolb’s learning style inventory particularly. Besides, the paper also discusses the application of Kolb’s model in school education, including the bases for the classification of different types of learners and the embodiment of learners with different learning styles. Finally, some enlightenments for teaching methods are proposed, and it is concluded that along with the rapid progress of the present society that attaches importance to the individual differences, it can be expected that the analysis of learning styles will get more and more attention.
