Abstract
Body language is one of the most effective means for improving expressive effect. It plays an important role in English teaching. It can increase the stimulus intensity of language information input, and give deep impression to students. It is also the important supplement of verbal language. Teacher should use body language reasonably and give full play to it in English classroom teaching. Body language can make students learn English with happiness, thus improve students’ ability of listening, speaking and reading, understanding of words and grammar. This thesis demonstrates usual sorts and usage of body language, proving the importance of body language. At the same time, it also puts forward some points remained to be improved.
