Abstract
The present study focuses on the impact of students emotions, especially affection and fear, towards their English teachers on their English learning, such as interest and grades. As the belief commonly spreads, students’ preference is proportional to their English interest as well as their English grades; students’ degree of fear may be inversely proportional to English interest as well as their English grades.This research was conducted by the doubt and in Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School. In this study, 150 freshmen of Grade Seven participated in the questionnaire and 3 students, as well as 3 teachers, accepted the interviews. Students’ interest and grades, combined with the different degree of affection or fear, are displayed in the form of tables and then analyzed and explained later. The final results suggest that both affection and fear would produce two sides, positive or negative, of influence on English interest and grades.
