Abstract: This thesis is intended to study the translation of adverbial clause in business contracts, find out reasons for translation difficulty of them and put forward solutions to the problem. It is divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction to the necessity of the study and the structure of the thesis. The second part is a literature review in which the author briefly generalizes the fruits of previous studies. The third part is to analyze the lexical and syntactic features of adverbial clauses in business contracts. The forth part explores translation of different adverbial clauses in contracts with the assistance of examples. Finally, in the conclusion, the author points out the reasons why translation of adverbial clauses in contracts is difficult and puts forward some suggestion to solve the problem.
