Abstract

With the deepening of economic globalization, the exhibition industry has become a new modern service trade industry, which has also become one of the important standards to measure the degree of internationalization of a city and the level of economic development. Therefore, Exhibition English, as a common language of international communication, plays a key role in the international conference and exhibition activities. Based on the Skopostheory, this paper mainly studies the characteristics of Exhibition English translation in Asia Bike Trade Show 2016. The study will use this trade show’s specific examples to state the characteristics from vocabulary, phrase, grammar, figures of speech. Finally, this paper will introduce five countermeasures to improve the level of exhibition English translation. The purpose of the study is to remind the exhibition English translators to study the characteristics of exhibition English translation and avoid the problems encountered in translation. Translators should use the appropriate expression when they translate the content of exhibition,product names, functions and so on, so as to meet the needs of exhibitors and consumers. Ultimately, it helps to promote the successful development of exhibition activities and enhance the cooperation between domestic and international exhibition industry. The main purpose is to promote the development of our China’s exhibition industry.
