《维维安·格雷》是英国作家本杰明·迪斯雷利的作品，小说主要讲述了一个具有远大报负的年轻人职业生涯的故事。主人公维维安选择政治作为自己的职业，通过操纵国会议员企图获得权力。这体现了他是一个被误导的，自大的年轻人形象。小说批判了当时英格兰社会阶级以及政治的复杂，以及个人如何取得成就的问题。
在本次翻译实践中，译者选取《维维安·格雷》卷一中的第1-9章，讲述了维维安幼年时代的生活及性格，心理复杂的变化过程，最后形成自己的思想观点。
在翻译过程中，首先我会在对整篇小说通读后，然后再和指导老师讨论具体细节及需要改进的地方。我会充分利用学校图书馆资源，查找相关译文，为自己的论文写作提供灵感，最后完成自己的翻译。通过翻译这部小说，我希望可以提高自己的翻译能力。翻译完成后，本人将总结翻译的过程和经验，按照要求撰写一篇小论文总结出现的问题及解决对策。
INTRODUCTION
Vivian Grey is Benjamin Disraeli's first novel, published by Henry Colburn in 1826. It tells the career story of a young man with ambition. As a politician, Vivian attempts to gain power by manipulating the Congressional，which shows he is a misguided, arrogant young man. In addition, the novel criticizes the England social class and political complexity, and how people can acquire their achievements.
The translator translated former nine chapters of the volume one of this novel into appropriate Chinese in terms of content, form, style and cultural differences. In these chapters, the novel describes Vivian's life and character in childhood, the process of psychology change, and how he produces own ideas.
In the process of translation, first of all, I read the whole novel, discussed details with my supervisor and found issues to be improved. I made full use of the school library resources to find relevant translation, which provide inspiration for my paper writing. By translating this novel, I hope I can improve my translation ability. After the completion of translation, I summarized the process and experience of translation, wrote an essay summarizing related issues and solutions in accordance with the requirements.
